Lido Competition

Apparently the 2014 contest was announced a month ago, but since I've just found out about it today, I'll write about it.  The Lido Contest is where average people with an eye for golf course architecture can fulfill their armchair fantasies.  What you do is design a golf hole (a par 3 this year), using the tenets of design preached by Alister Mackenzie, a famous golf course architect, and the winner of the original contest, way back in 1914.  Now, this contest hasn't been going on for that long, but it was revived in 1987.  You can learn about the history of the contest here.  This is a link to this year's contest and the rules.  I've entered a couple times in the past, but not that recently.  I'm definitely entering this year though, it's a fun thing to do, and I'm really bored.  It's the perfect combination.
